Strauss and Mahler strike back

If you haven’t yet, rush right over to Soho the Dog for the eagerly awaited next installment of the widely adulated comic strip Strauss and Mahler Re-enact Your Favorite Movie Moments. Connoisseurs will enjoy an apparent allusion to Nietzsche’s Case of Wagner (“…an oracle, a priest — no, more than a priest, a kind of mouthpiece of things-as-they-are, a telephone from the beyond — henceforth he uttered not only music, this ventriloquist of God — he uttered metaphysics…”). Then again, it could be a nod to Crispin Glover’s immortal performance as Andy Warhol in Oliver Stone’s The Doors. Levels of meaning are manifold.
